Communities Foundation of Oklahoma Announces Teresa Rose Crook as New CEO

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 27, 2018

[OKC, OK] – Teresa Rose Crook recently joined Communities Foundation of Oklahoma. As executive director and CEO, she will help people and foundations thrive, grow, and contribute to causes meaningful to them. She has spent her career serving others and improving her community, holding a variety of executive positions, including senior leadership roles at Oklahoma City Community Foundation and Chesapeake Energy Corporation.

Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, celebrating unprecedented growth in 2017, has surpassed the $100,000,000 asset mark. This historic growth necessitated adding a chief operations officer and former CEO, Randy Macon, will assume the new role.

“Teresa’s seasoned leadership brings expanded vision to an already flourishing organization,” says Frank Merrick, president of Foundation Management, Inc. and longtime manager for Communities Foundation of Oklahoma. “Teresa will serve Oklahoma donors and charitable organizations with energy and excellence.”

“On behalf of our board of trustees, we welcome Teresa, whose career has been dedicated to helping Oklahomans build better communities. We are delighted she has joined us in our work,” says Mary Jenkins, chair of the board for Communities Foundation of Oklahoma.

Rose Crook’s expertise in community relations, government affairs, philanthropy and legal matters, combined with her heart for giving, enable her to provide individuals, families and organizations with guidance and options as they choose the best way to approach giving.  She earned both her bachelor’s and her law degrees from Oklahoma City University and practiced law for several years, traveling the state and representing school districts in 150 different communities.

“Working throughout our state is one of the things I am looking forward to the most as I step into this new role,” says Rose Crook. “We have many ways to make giving more streamlined for those who want to support charitable organizations, and we are also able to help charitable organizations manage their endowments and scholarships.”

Outside of the office, Rose Crook volunteers for organizations that impact Oklahoma and drive change for causes that improve life for Oklahomans. She is active with the Oklahoma City Chamber, serving on their executive committee and as the vice chair of the Education and Workforce Development Committee. She is board chair of the Civic Center Foundation, board member of the Foundation for OKCPS, and active on the MAPS 3 Downtown Park subcommittee. She is a founding member of the Family Justice Center, a member of OKC Compact, and recently joined the board of Saint Anthony’s Health Care of Oklahoma. Rose Crook was also the founding board chair of ReMerge.

She and her husband, Randy, have four children and two dogs.
