Blue Support Fund for Rural Oklahoma
Thanks to the generous support of Tom and Phyllis McCasland, Communities Foundation of Oklahoma is proud to launch the Blue Support Fund for Rural Oklahoma. Through this competitive grant process we will equip rural Police Departments and Sheriff's Offices with protective, concealable body armor, provided by our partner GALLS, the trusted leader in uniforms, equipment and tactical gear for police and public safety officers.
Applications are now being accepted from:
- Oklahoma Police Departments associated with municipalities of less than 50,000 residents
- Sheriff's Departments serving counties of less than 150,000 residents.
If you are unsure of your area's population, please visit the American Fact Finder section of the United States Census Bureau's website and perform a search under the Community Facts heading.
Grant requests will be prepared in collaboration with a GALLS representative and may not exceed $10,000. To complete the first phase of the application process, click the blue button above to access our online grant application system. After establishing your username and password, look for the grant opportunity labeled "Blue Support Fund for Rural Oklahoma."
Applications must be submitted through the online application system no later than 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday, July 31, 2017.
A committee will review all completed applications and will make sure awards do not exceed $10,000 for any single Department, based on the application and ensuring that the most pressing needs are satisfied first. Grant recipients will work directly with the GALLS representative to place their order and arrange for each individual office to be custom fitted for the protective equipment. Invoices will be paid directly by Communities Foundation of Oklahoma.
