Communities Foundation of Oklahoma (CFO) grows and sustains important causes and organizations in communities across the state and assists donors in their philanthropic giving. CFO is committed to creating funds that help communities meet the challenges of changing times; to connecting donors with community needs in supporting the long term impact of vital community organizations; and meeting the charitable needs of all Oklahomans in communities large and small...now and forever. 

To promote community philanthropy and involvement and to strengthen community development, charitable organizations, and current CFO member organizations, Oklahoma donors have generously contributed for these matching funds programs.

CFO is committed to creating funds that help communities meet the challenges of changing times; to connecting donors with community needs in supporting the long term impact of vital community organizations; and meeting the charitable needs of all Oklahomans in communities large and small...now and forever.

To promote community philanthropy and involvement and to strengthen charitable organizations in Oklahoma communities, the 2012 Matching Funds Programs are designed to help build and grow permanent endowment funds. These matching programs are funded through the generosity of CFO donors.

*All matches are available January 1 through December 31, 2012 or until all funds are awarded.*

Creating New Community Foundations

To promote the concept of local community endowment and leadership through a permanent endowed community fund.

  • 1:1 (dollar for dollar) match up to $10,000
  • Communities may take up to 12 months to complete the match with broad based fundraising efforts (i.e. multiple donors).
  • Sub-funds (individual agency designated endowments, scholarship funds, etc.) are eligible for a separate designated endowment match (see Establishing New Agency & Designated Endowment Funds below).

Establishing New Agency & Designated Endowment Funds

To promote the concept of permanent endowments for charitable organizations and activities.

  • $5,000 match with establishment of a $20,000 endowment fund.
  • Eligible funds include nonprofit / charitable organizations, local education foundations, scholarship endowments, and individual / family / corporate endowments benefiting public charities.
  • Only one match will be awarded per organization

Challenge Grants in Growing Current Endowments

To strengthen established endowment funds at Communities Foundation of Oklahoma.

$2,000 match will be awarded when new gifts to endowment fund equal or exceed $10,000 and brings the fund balance to $20,000 or greater.
  • Only one match will be awarded per organization
