oklahoma initiative fundCommunity foundations refer to gifts for which no pre-determined purpose is stated as "undesignated funds." At Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, we refer to these funds as the Oklahoma Initiative Fund. Thanks to contributions from donors across the state and an anonymous matching grant, communities and organizations benefit from this fund. Each year, the CFO Grants Committee makes distributions from the Oklahoma Initiative Fund from recommendations concerning specific grants throughout the state. Donors may continue to add to this fund as a way to address unmet needs that are universal across Oklahoma. OKLAHOMA INITIATIVE FUND Since 2004, the Oklahoma Initiative Fund at Communities Foundation of Oklahoma has invested nearly $200,000 through grants to organizations focused on improving the quality of life in communities - large and small - across our state. Grants have ranged from $500 to $5,000 with an average grant of $2,000. Communities Foundation of Oklahoma (CFO) recognizes that the economic conditions in our state have seriously impacted many charitable activities in our communities. However, in lieu of the open application process this year, the CFO Grants Committee has designated Oklahoma Initiative Fund grants to address the critical community needs in our member community fund service areas.
