Marilyn Miller Harris Memorial Scholarship

MARILYN MILLER HARRIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Named in honor of Marilyn Miller Harris, this scholarship is awarded to an outstanding graduating senior of Ponca City High School.

Marilyn was born in Ponca City in 1933, to George W. Miller and Margaret Craddock Miller. She attended Ponca City High School from 1947 to 1951. She performed well academically and was active in numerous clubs and organizations. She went on to the University of Oklahoma where she graduated in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology.

Several years later, after starting a family, Marilyn completed her teaching certificate and started a teaching career which spanned 26 years. She taught first grade in Norman, Oklahoma; first grade in New Haven, Indiana; and third grade in Bentonville, Arkansas. Teaching was her passion.
