McCasland Foundation Scholarship
McCASLAND FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPT. H. McCasland, a successful oilman and philanthropist in Duncan, Oklahoma created the McCasland Foundation on December 26, 1950. His philosophy, adopted by his children and grandchildren, views granting money as giving back to the community the opportunities and generosity received. He supported many students during his lifetime and believed education was key to increasing the quality of life for future generations. These scholarships have been awarded for over four decades. The family remains actively involved in the oil and gas industry. The Foundation grants almost exclusively in the State of Oklahoma and concentrates its efforts in the Southwest region of the State. The main areas of interest are education, primarily special projects to public schools and universities including numerous scholarship funds, cultural organizations and community-based organizations. Eligibility 5 Duncan High School graduates and 3 graduates total from Stephens County area schools including Marlow, Central, Empire, Velma-Alma, Comanche, and Bray-Doyle Must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 Must demonstrate leadership, character and participation in school activities Preference given to students who demonstrate motivation for self-improvement and have not amassed a large amount of scholarship funds (i.e. Oklahoma State Regents of Higher Education Academic Scholarship or its equivalent) Must attend college/university offering a four-year curriculum and enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student each semester. Student may start their college career at a 2-year insitution but must be planning to continue and complete their education at a 4-year institution. Award 4-year award, renewable with a college 2.5 cumulative GPA; $3,000 per year (payable at $1,500 per semester) $12,000 cumulative for four years Scholarship may fund tuition and related fees, room and board, books and required materials, and living expenses. Must provide Communities Foundation of Oklahoma an official transcript of grades and progress report for each semester. Must maintain an overall college GPA of 2.5 and exhibit satisfactory personal character, leadership and participation in school actvities Stephens County school students - Managed by Javelin CMS |
