At Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, communities are our biggest asset. We are committed to equipping our donors with the tools they need to improve the quality of life in every county across the state. From the environment to well-being, from arts to education, we help Oklahomans employ their passions to enhance their communities.

How does a Community Fund Work?
Community foundations are tax-exempt public charities serving people who share a common goal– improving the quality of life in their community. A community fund serves a specific geographic area, and partners with the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma to carry out its mission. The partnership between a community fund and CFO contains specific duties and responsibilities for each party.

Community Fund
The community fund, through the governance of an advisory board, is responsible for managing regular operations, working with individuals and organizations to establish charitable giving funds, and overseeing a local grantmaking program.

CFO
CFO supports the work of community funds by providing professional financial and administrative services, program and grantmaking oversight, assistance with charitable giving and donor relations, and marketing support throughout the process. We are here to help you with anything you might need.
